Welcome

Thank you for taking a moment to read a little bit about me and this space.

*You may have landed here to discover how yoga can fit into your personal wellness plan by starting or reconnecting with your practice.

* You may be seeking restoration of function from an injury or from a limiting diagnosis.

*You may be transitioning from traditional physical therapy and looking for further knowledgeable guidance and accountability.

I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Registered Yoga Teacher who has achieved an alignment of these two practices with the intention of showing clients how valuable they are together.

MY SKILLS & APPROACH

Working for years with individuals experiencing declines in function and mental well-being due to many complex symptoms, I am familiar with approaching multifaceted health challenges. Though my specialized physical therapy expertise in neurological and vestibular conditions and my yoga background, I teach about the deep connection between the brain, breath, and the body, which is often overlooked in the current healthcare climate. Understanding this connection and digging deep into the root of the issue are important for the path of healing and prevention. I prioritize personalized care, taking the time one-on-one to guide you toward greater awareness, alignment, and lasting well-being through movement & mindfulness. I utilize an intentional practice model that allows for increased adaptation for your needs. I want to hear your story and assess you as a whole person to optimize your success and foster your resilience.

PRIVATE OFFERINGS:

Individual sessions are available for therapeutic yoga, physical therapy, and wellness-based exercise in a quiet, supportive environment. Even when seeking out group yoga classes, beginning with a private session is recommended to provide you with a movement assessment and customized guidance from the start.

Semi-private yoga sessions (for two participants) provide personalized feedback on movement, breathwork, and meditation for you and a friend or family member with the benefit of sharing the cost of a private yoga session.

Booking can be completed through a secure patient portal, which also provides private messaging between visits and access to your relevant information. If you are seeking physical therapy, please note that I am an out-of-network provider for all insurances. More details are available on my pricing and FAQs pages.

CLASS OFFERINGS:

All-levels yoga classes are regularly in a small group setting and occasionally off-site to host larger interest. The schedule is updated monthly. Current available classes can be viewed on the booking site.

Classes are labeled as “all-levels” meaning you can come for your first yoga experience without intimidation or explore your established practice with my cueing and guidance. These are typically floor-based, mat classes. Variations are always given throughout to allow you the space to explore and adapt for your body. Props are provided and use is encouraged. Folding chairs are available, however the class is not a chair-yoga class unless labeled as such.

Themed series are designed to create a more focused experience incorporating yoga philosophy and education, or to support a specific audience, such as chair-assisted yoga for people with Parkinson’s and LoveYourBrain yoga for people following brain injury. With my practice design, I want to inspire all to believe they can engage in yoga, no matter their limitations or skills.

Classes designed for events can be arranged for your friends, family, or work group in your space or mine. Contact to discuss details.

COMMUNITY CONNECTION

In addition to sharing yoga with this community, I am an instructor of “Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance”. This is an evidenced-based program designed to improve balance and reduce fall risk using traditional Tai Chi principles. It is offered through the Kearsarge Council on Aging or available to incorporate into your private session.

Ascend LLC is a member of the Lake Sunapee Region Chamber of Commerce.

I have lived in the New London, NH area since 2013. I am also currently an outpatient and inpatient physical therapist at New London Hospital and prior to that was at Dartmouth Hitchcock, and the VNA of Vermont & New Hampshire. I initially put down my PT roots at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. I have lead yoga at various yoga & fitness establishments in this area. I enjoy this community and all it has to offer, and I am grateful to share it with my husband and my young son. I look forward to getting to know you!
